Bremerhaven-based processor Deutsche See is planning a multi-million investment to significantly ramp up its sushi production.
"We want to build the largest sushi factory in Europe," Heiko Frisch, head of the production at the firm, told the Hamburger Abendblatt.
Several million euros will be invested in the course, and the investment will boost employment numbers significantly, he said.
The company, which currently employs about 1,700 staff, recently also expanded its online shop service to Hamburg.
Deutsche See launched the online shop in December 2013 in the Berlin area, and gradually expanded its offering to Stuttgart, Frankfurt am Main and Munich.
