A Danish website established this summer earned itself a reputation for its initiative in allowing fish to be traced from deck to plate.
The website was established by Ebbe Hansen of Havfrisk Fisk, and was so well received it is already being extended to a Swedish counterpart.
“It immediately attracted international interest and will therefore also be launched abroad,” Hansen told IntraFish. The Swedish site will be up and running by early October.
It’s a straightforward idea. Fishermen can report in via computer or text message to indicate when they will be in port with fish to sell.
