“If this doesn’t happen, most will go bankrupt,” Espersen said, speaking recently in Aalborg, Denmark.
There are far too many Danish companies either running at a loss, or barely keeping their heads above water, he said. Considerable restructuring has to take place, which probably means far more involvement from foreign companies and investors.
“In a globalized world, there’s no room for the old nationalistic attitude toward foreign capital,” said Espersen.
There are no Danish seafood companies listed on the stock exchange.
