Alaska crab vessel Captain Keith Colburn has inked a deal with a Maruha Nichiro processing subsidiary to sell his crab exclusively in Kroger supermarket stores.

He is working with Seattle-based Westward Seafoods, a Maruha Nichiro distribution and processing company. The deal comes complete with his own brand – Taste the Magic – now on labels tacked to all the crab he sells.

In exchange for the label, Colburn is offering Kroger an opportunity to buy crab that it might otherwise not have.
