The Walton Family Foundation (WFF), in collaboration with DardenRestaurants, on Wednesday said they are creating a Fishery ImprovementPartnership Fund (FIPF) as an investment model to help address overfishing.
Announced at the 2013 Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual MeetingWednesday, the fund will leverage philanthropic, industry and governmentresources to help develop and advance Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs)worldwide.
The US National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) will manage thefund. WFF and its partners will develop a structure for matching contributionsto the FIPF, select projects the fund will support and evaluate theeffectiveness of funded projects.
