Turnover for exporter Aalesund, Western Norway-based Sirena Norway took a dive last year, resulting in a small deficit.
Sales dropped to NOK 206.9 million (€22.3 million/$24.9 million) last year from NOK 378.1 million (€40.8 million/$45.5 million) the previous year for the company, which is owned by Danish firm Sirena Salmon in Aalborg.
Operating profit was shaved to NOK 500,000 (€53,931/$60,224) from NOK 3.1 million (€334,372/$373,392) in 2013.
“The annual result didn't turn out as anticipated. We've therefore changed our strategy in 2015, through reducing fixed costs, and altered our risk profile,” the board said in its annual report.
