Danish fishing company Ruth A/S has placed an order with the Kartsensens Skibsværft yard in Skagen for a new purse seiner/pelagic trawler.
The new 87.80-meter length overall by 16.60-meter beam Ruth is expected to be delivered in March 2016 and to have a €34 million price tag.
The development of the new Ruth is the result of close co-operation between the owners and the yard, which also handles the in-house design of the vessel.
The new vessel is also designed to be the first of its kind as a pelagic vessel fitted with three Karmoy trawl winches for twin-rig trawling.
