The Middelfart-based company -- which supplies seafood as well as dairy, meat and vegetables to wholesalers, retailers and foodservice companies -- has started a joint venture operation in Indonesia, which is certified by the EU "green leaf" organic standard, as well as Agriculture Biologique (AB), for France.
“It will be the largest organic black tiger production in the world,” said Jiro Takeuchi, a director at Uhrenholt group. ”With no feed, no metabisulphite, no additives -- 100 percent natural shrimp.”
Listing organic black tiger has been a problem in the past, because it was not widely available and too expensive, he told IntraFish.
