Bail was set at $1 million for former Bumble Bee Chris Lischewski on Wednesday during his initial court appearance in a case involving his alleged role in a massive tuna price fixing case.

The court also ordered Lischewski to surrender his passport.

Lischewski was arraigned Wednesday on a federal indictment related to his alleged role in the seafood industry's largest-ever price fixing scandal.

Earlier in May, the U S District Court for northern California handed down a one-count felony indictment alleging Lischewski carried out a conspiracy by agreeing to fix the prices of packaged seafood during meetings and other communications.
