A US appeals court denied a shrimp company's request to appeal a lower court's decision related to more than $1 million €892,400) in BP oil spill settlement money the company received.

Crystal Seafood Company and Owners Victor and Christopher Tran were ordered to pay back more than $1 million (€892,400), which was awarded in 2013 by the Deepwater Horizon Economic Claims Center (DHECC) as part of the 2010 BP oil spill settlement, according to the Louisiana Record.

Crystal Seafood was considered a failed business when the oil spill occurred and the court alleged it committed fraud by swearing it was operational at that time, according to the news site.
