At a seminar during the AquaNor exhibition Wednesday, Nordea Bank's Kolbjorn Giskeodegaard said, given that estimate, the total value of Norwegian salmon production is worth NOK 50 billion (€6.2 billion/$8.4 billion).
This year, which will see Norwegian aquaculture companies achieving an average operating margin of more than 25 percent, is the third ”golden year” in a row for Norwegian producers, said Giskeodegaard.
Giskeodegaard believes there are signs the salmon industry is entering a period of turbulence where prices and the market are concerned, but he wasn't about to predict a drastic downturn.
