In February, up to 4,000 rainbow trout, each weighing at least 2.5 kilograms, escaped from a farm operated by Scot Trout at Ardchatten, on Loch Etive, and swam into the Awe River.
Conservation groups say it wasn't the first time there was an escape, and the Times of London reported the groups reached agreement with Tesco to have the retailer investigate.
Now, the Argyll District Salmon Fishery Board says instead of looking into the matter, Tesco is trying to impede efforts to figure out what happened, the newspaper reported.
