Peruvian fishmeal and fish oil producer Copeinca ended its second fishing season with 13.7 percent of the total Peruvian anchovy quota of 6.2 million metric tons, slightly higher than last year's percentage of roughly 12.5 percent of the quota
Total production came to 196,773 metric tons of fishmeal and 46,000 metric tons of fish oil.
"That is a little bit higher than what we projected," Copeinca CEO Pablo Trapunsky told IntraFish.
The company sources 10 percent of its material from its own vessels, with the rest coming from local fishermen.
