Chilean salmon farmers on strike could be moving closer to a resolution as officials at Cooke Aquaculture are meeting with union leaders of its subsidiary Salmon Cupquelan.

Nell Halse, spokeswoman for Cooke, told IntraFish, “we are in negotiations,” but couldn’t comment further on when or if the demands of the workers, which include salary increases and other improvements in worker conditions, would be met.

This news comes on the heels of two public protests from workers at Cupquelan earlier this week when many of the 120 workers, who have been on strike since Oct.14,
