Cooke Aquaculture will soon be marketing and selling Canadian Organic Aquaculture Standard-certified cultivated kelp, raised on its farm in the Bay of Fundy.
Produced at the Charlie Cove farm site near Back Bay, New Brunswick, and are being marketed under its True North Salmon brand.
Two species of kelps are produced at the integrated multi-trophic farm site; Alaria esculenta and saccharina latissima, also called winged and sugar kelps.
The certification to the Canadian Organic Aquaculture Standard comes following third-party audits by certification company SAI Global.
