It’s a risky business predicting good times in commodities and the stock market, where the majority are on the decline, but IntraFish reported Friday salmon prices paid to producers as high as NOK43 (€5.51/$7).
This is the highest price reported for Norwegian farmed salmon since 1993; the last time the industry experienced anything anywhere near that level was May 2000.
The reason good prices can still be expected for salmon is consumers have well and truly developed a liking for seafood in a situation where demand is greater than supply.
