Alfesca is Europe’s largest smoked salmon supplier, via subsidiaries Labeyrie and Delpierre, and owns U.K.-based Lyons Seafood. It posted 2008 sales of €647 million ($906 million). The company controls the firms Le Traiteur Grec, Adrimex, Blini, Vensy, and Farne Salmon & Trout.
Owners of more than 1.3 billion shares accepted the takeover bid, equal to around 23 percent of the issued share capital, and the company will seek to delist from the NASDAQ OMX Iceland exchange while requesting to redeem the remaining 10 percent of shares owned by outstanding shareholders.
