Low catches and high raw material prices continue to affect the coldwater shrimp sector, and Tom Klausen, financial director of Norway-based supplier Stella Polaris expects the situation to remain this way for the foreseeable future
Klausen told IntraFish supply was lower than the demand, with the price of raw materials currently at a high, with no signs of faltering.
“We had a lower production than usual due to a lack of raw materials," Klausen said. "Things have improved slightly in the summer, but it’s still far from ideal."
