Coldwater shrimp are a "health bomb" and the industry should be better at researching and touting its many benefits, presenters said at the Coldwater Prawn Forum.

Prawn are rich in protein and have less cholesterol than eggs, Eva-Maria Bachmair, a PhD student at the University of Aberdeen, said.

Whereas eggs have 250 milligrams of cholesterol per 100 gram, the same amount of coldwater shrimp will ‘only’ have 195 milligrams of cholesterol, Bachmair said.
