The company has found its facility at Tjeldbergodden is too large in relation to supplying the current market for cod farming. Now they would prefer to raise salmon and trout smolt.
Atlantic Cod Farms currently has a license to produce 12 million cod juveniles at its facility in Tjeldbergodden bio-park in Western Norway through its subsidiary Atlantic Cod Tjeldbergodden.
The company has now applied for a license to produce 5 million salmonid smolt at this facility. The intention is for the new license to replace the license for cod juvenile production.
