The company, which is fully integrated from hatchery to production, says prices have started to pick up since the summer, up from NOK 30 (€3.7/$5) per kilo in May. Progress is also being made on the issue of biological challenges, the group said.
The cod market’s difficulties, which started in the autumn of 2008, had plunged Norsk Marin Fisk in the red for 2009.
The year, the group posted a turnover of NOK 23 million (€2.8 million/$3.9 million), less than half its turnover of the previous year.
