Young's Seafood's owner Lion Capital could close Border Laird, one of the sites operated by the now defunct Cumbrian Seafoods, in the near future following quality issues at the factory, a source told IntraFish.
The rumor comes as Border Laird's former director Graham Anderson is said to have been dismissed following an investigation by Young's into a number of former Cumbrian executives.
According to a source close to Cumbrian, Young's, the UK arm of Findus Group, has already started transferring some of Border Laird's fish cake production to its own factories and the entire site is scheduled to close in two weeks.
