Norwegian aquaculture company Sulefisk is about to see a unique closed containment cage put into action as the final touches are made at a Bergen shipyard. The "Ecomerden," as it has been named, will be put in the water and operative next month.

“The cage will be set out on the quay in the next five weeks. Then it will be towed up to the farm site and anchored before we lower down the impermeable canopy and everything belonging to the waste system and pumps," said Jan Erik Kyrkjeo, managing director at Ecomerden.
