Australian kingfish farmer Clean Seas Tuna posted a 59 percent rise in sales in the first quarter of its 2017 fiscal year, to 714 metric tons -- well above the 449 metric tons for the same period in the same period the year prior.

“Excellent” fish health and survival were the key reasons given for the performance, helping the company to maintain its financial year guidance for sales of 2,500 metric tons.

Clean Seas said it achieved a near 50/50 split between domestic and export sales as Australian sales increased by 19 percent to 365 metric tons and export sales jumped by 149 percent to 349 metric tons.
