Haikui Seafood, a processor of frozen and canned fish and seafood, plans to extend its product portfolio by diversifying into compound extraction from fish scraps, the company CFO told IntraFish.

"There is a lot of nutritional value to be extracted from seafood, and the raw material cost would be nil for us," said Alan Gey, CFO of Haikui Seafood.

Haikui recently bought a large piece of land from the Chinese government in the Dongshan Marine Biotechnology Industrial Park, which Gey said will allow the company to consolidate all its production under one roof, as well as leave a large margin for future capacity building, with room for as much as doubling its current production.
