China's continued surge in seafood consumption fueled another strong year of growth for China Fisheries & Seafood Expo, organizers Sea Fare Expositions said in a statement.

The 19th edition of the show was held Nov. 5 to 7 in Qingdao.

Preliminary figures show 1,260 companies from 43 countries filled 25,600 square meters of exhibit space in all seven halls of the sold-out Qingdao International Convention Center, a 24 percent increase from last year.

About 27,000 visitors attended, a 23 percent jump from the previous year.
