Dutch fisheries giant Parlevliet & Van der Plas (P&P), Icelandic seafood giant Samherji and private equity firm Blackstone were in talks to buy China Fishery Group's Peruvian assets earlier this year. Also several other seafood companies came forward showing interest in the Pacific Andes company.

Court documents show 26 companies listed as potential candidates -- of those, 18 received a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Of those 18, six signed the NDA and received a process letter:

  • Chinese investment firm Fosun Group and Shangdong Shengli Bioengineering
  • Peruvian investment group Brescia Group, which owns Tasa, Peru's largest anchovy company
  • Chinese tilapia giant Guolian Aquatic
  • Oaktree Capital
  • Harvest Fund
  • Parlevliet & Van der Plas (P&P) and Samherji HF and Blackstone

Of these six, three signed a process letter -- Brescia Group; Guolian Aquatic and Fosun Group & Shangdong Shengli Bioengineering.
