Meanwhile, workers on Chiloe Island are preparing Thursday for a day of mobilization summoned by the Chilean Federation of Trade Unions (CUT).
Union leaders said they were satisfied with Tuesday's meeting, and managed to get a series of resources to address the consequences of unemployment. The measures are expected to be part of a plan to address the situation that has seen thousands of workers lose their jobs because of problems with disease.
