Chilean salmon producers face a critical period the next few months, Jan Trollvik, director at the Norwegian Seafood Council, said.

Trollvik just returned from a trip to Chile, and painted a gloomy picture of the situation there in his address at NSC’s "Mini-seminar on salmon" last week.

“The critical time concerning sea lice is now, in October. Spring has arrived down there, and temperatures will be rising. I think we need to wait a little before we see the outcome, but for the past two to three years, people have become more concordant in their views.
