Most people agree it will take until 2014 to reach full recovery from the problems created by the Infectious Salmon Anemia (ISA) virus, which has decimated the country's salmon farming industry.

SalmonChile CEO Carlos Odebret shared his reasons for optimism with the press at a press conference Monday.

Odebret said monthly fish mortality early this year was around 13 percent but has dropped to less than 1 percent as of August.

“Mortality has dropped and we believe this is a large effect of the changes we’ve made to the sanitary measures we’ve been implementing.
