The 8.8 temblor, centered near the city of Concepcion, has left more than 700 people dead, according to the latest government estimates.
Camanchaca has a processing plant in Concepcion, but the company has yet to gather information from that location, Bert Bachmann, the company’s vice president and general manager, told IntraFish.
“The owners and top management are all OK, although the message is that it was hell. Our mussel farming and processing is all in the Chiloe island region, and apparently there was very little affect, if any,” he said.
