During the last few years, Chilean salmon farming has been plagued with numerous problems. Disease and environmental setbacks have resulted in a lower rate of growth and higher production costs in one of the world’s most important salmon production countries.

However, Aasmund Baklien, who is in charge of Pharmaq’s branch in Chile, believes the problems are of a transient nature.

The willingness is there

Both the government authorities and the industry are eager to get rid of the problems they are battling now.
