Bloomberg News reported Monday Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer, had stopped buying Chilean salmon due to sourcing problems due to the drop in production caused by the infectious salmon anemia (ISA) virus.

Jiminez told IntraFish on Monday Wal-Mart isn’t one of the company's regular customers.

"I gather that other companies sold it more salmon, but this is no surprise as it’s not the fact Wal-Mart didn’t buy any more but that Chile no longer has any more salmon to sell," he said.
