Glenn Cooke, CEO of Canada-based Cooke Aquaculture, which has salmon growing operations in Chile, told IntraFish the company remains very bullish on the country, and is looking now to buy salmon farms, mussel farms and other fish-growing businesses there.
“We’ve looked at a number of operations in Chile and they didn’t materialize, but we’re actively looking and waiting to see what else comes about,” Cooke (pictured) said Friday.
Cooke Aquaculture and other Atlantic Canada-based growers suffered through their own problems with infectious salmon anemia (ISA) that ravaged the area’s industry, stuck with it and now are back to reaping the fruits of their hard work.
