Mainstream Chile will harvest its last remaining mature Atlantic salmon in first quarter 2010, then have to wait more than half a year to resume.
“Next year will be the lowest point in Atlantic salmon in Chile,” Isaksen (pictured) told IntraFish.
“We expect to be able to harvest and sell 4,000 metric tons of Atlantic salmon in the last quarter next year, but we will have two quarters without any harvest at all of Atlantic salmon. Then part of the sites stocked from July this year will be harvest in the fourth quarter.”
