Taiwanese wholesale retailers Wellcome, RT-Mart, and Carrefour took raw shrimp off their shelves on Tuesday at certain locations after an investigation by the Taiwanese Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which tested 231 sample of fresh shrimp and found 12 were tainted, according to The China Post.
Eight of the rejected shipments had high levels of sulfur dioxide.
These products were sold at RT-Mart locations in Taipei's Neihu District, Taichung and Bade; as well as Carrefour's Chongde branch in Taichung; and grocery chain Yumaowu.
