Pojer said Carrefour had designated four key markets in Asia: Thailand, China, South Korea and Malaysia.
The company operates 20 hypermarkets in Thailand. CenCar is looking at alternative retail formats to accelerate its presence.
"A 'hard discount' store, a retail format between a supermarket and a convenience store, will also be considered," Pojer said.
"Both supermarkets and convenience stores right now have heavy competition, although there are fewer competitors in the supermarket segment. If we decide to enter a new format, we are confident we can compete in the [Thai] market because we have a lot of international experience."
