American feed giant Cargill is expanding in Thailand, a company representative based in Thailand told IntraFish after last week's announcement it had acquired Thai shrimp feed manufacturer, Siamakme Aquatic Feeds.
"Cargill is looking for opportunities to expand in Thailand," the company representative, who asked to remain unnamed, said.
"We are keeping all the employees in Siamakme, and we have been promised that the current management will help Cargill in the first year," the spokesperson said.
Cargill's interest in the Thailand is led by its belief that the aquaculture giant is among "key growth geographies," said John Peppel, senior vice president of Cargill's animal nutrition business.
