Ocean Wise, which started in January 2005, now has more than 46 participants, including restaurants, markets and one culinary school. Ocean Wise is a Vancouver Aquarium conservation program that helps restaurants and their patrons make environmentally friendly seafood choices, ensuring that members have up-to-date information about sustainable seafood.
Participating restaurants display the Ocean Wise logo next to sustainable seafood items.
“We just started in 2005 and it’s just really taken off,” Vancouver Aquarium spokeswoman Brenda Jones told IntraFish. “Restaurant 62 just joined and they’re really excited.”
