Gold River Seafood owner Wally Simpson is growing his business in an unconventional method -- by downsizing.

Over the past couple of years the fishing company's fishing fleet has shrunk from four boats to just one, and Simpson said he wouldn't have it any other way.

Instead of spending countless hours and amounts of money on repairs and maintenance, Simpson began transforming his Canadian business from a harvester to an exporter.

"We've been downsizing. Two years ago we had four boats, now we only have one and it's just they way we like it," he told IntraFish.
