Under the plan, only suppliers whose wild fish are certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), or whose farmed fish certified by the Global Aquaculture Alliance's Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) or the Aquaculture Certification Council (ASC) will be able to sell to the company.

For fisheries not endorsed by the MSC, the company said Monday they must prove they are "responsible" and use "best in class" methodologies that can demonstrate documented improvements in fisheries practicies, as measured by FishSource or an equivalent standard.
