Clearwater Seafoods celebrated its 40th anniversary Wednesday.
Nova Scotians John Risley and Colin MacDonald founded the company in 1976 with just a pick-up truck, and grew it into one of Canada's largest publicly-traded seafood companies exporting to more than 40 countries.
More than 85 percent of its businesses is outside Canada with more than 15 offices and processing facilities worldwide.
Clearwater acquired Macduff Shellfish Group Limited last year, which CEO Ian Smith told IntraFishgave the company a huge boost.
Today it produces the largest selection of Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified seafood of any shellfish harvester.
