The company expects to produce 30,000 metric tons in 2009, but hopes through newly implemented technological advances to its production and harvesting methods, to double output to 60,000 metric tons in 2012, Larry Drazba, general manager for Pescanova-owned Camanica, recently told IntraFish.

“Last year was the first year’s production that did not reflect many of the technological changes which have been implemented,” he said.

“The group’s goal is to begin to benefit from those changes and expanded production area in the next two to three years.
