With Camanchaca’s recent Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certifications, the company has become the first in the southern hemisphere to receive BAP’s two-star certification, which covers both its farm and its plant.

The company’s processing plant in Tome, Chile, and its offshore Atlantic salmon farms, are now certified according to the Global Aquaculture Alliance’s BAP standards.

The company now has the right to carry a label identifying that it has both its farm and plant certified, BAP Wally Stevens, executive director for the Global Aquaculture Alliance, told IntraFish.
