The US Department of Labor (DOL) is seeking $214,000 (€177,370) in back wages and penalties from former Walmart supplier C.J.’s Seafood after finding 11 serious safety violations and $76,608 (€63,498) in unpaid wages during its investigation of the company.

According to the DOL, serious violations are defined as giving a substantial probability that death or serious physical harm could result from a hazard that the employer knew about or should have known.
