Sealord UK, subsidiary of the New Zealand fishing giant Sealord and retailer Waitrose’s dedicated whitefish supplier, reported a significant increase in sales across its range, overturning the typical seasonal downturn.

“It’s been astounding to have gone through the hottest June that I can remember and see our sales actually increase instead of go down,” Managing Director Keith Brown told IntraFish.

“We tend to find our peak sales in September and Easter. A bit of warm weather would historically see sales fall off, consumers would switch to tuna and salmon, which we don’t do.”
