The company has hooked up with the university to market its "UGA Premium Siberian Sturgeon Caviar," which hit retail and gourmet specialty stores in Atlanta and Athens, GA., home to the university.
Demmond, proud member of the class of 1973, told IntraFish on Tuesday he’s been working with Doug Peterson and others at the School of Agriculture for seven years on the caviar project.
The high-grade Ossetia caviar, which comes from Siberian sturgeon, is grown on a university-operated farm in northern Georgia, with Inland buying all the fish and selling the meat as fresh product, along with the caviar.
