Fjord was surging forward to a highly profitable year after substantially shaving its costs and amassing a large amount of cash when it was taken over this spring by rival Norwegian firm Pan Fish.

“We now have a good financial situation and maintaining a steady tempo. Naturally, we think it is a shame we cannot continue with this direction off our own bat. It feels slightly unjust, but at the same time it is clear the capital market is in the driver’s seat,” Midttun told IntraFish at the Brussels seafood show in Belgium.
