Although the administrator -- the largest private professional services organization in the world -- has reached a settlement with former British Seafood CEO Mark Holyoake and others on repayment, it is continuing discussions on the tax reclaim with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
“The administrators are continuing discussions with HMRC in relation to the potential recovery of up to £5.2 million (€6 million/$8.4 million) of corporation tax paid in relation to overstated trading profits in prior periods. The relevant claims have been filed with HMRC,” said Deloitte in a report.
A spokeswoman for Deloitte confirmed the action is “ongoing.”
