The Alaska Department of Fish & Game (ADF&G) on Thursday released the 2015 Bristol Bay sockeye salmon harvest forecast, predicting the harvest could climb 1.4 percent, from the 39.97 million fish caught in 2014 to 40.52 million fish for the 2015 season.
This prediction is 40 percent greater than the previous 10-year mean of total runs and 51 percent greater than the long-term mean of 32.43 million, the department stated.
